Convoys Wharf: planning objections workshop

If you are considering writing a response to the Convoys Wharf planning application, but you just don't know where to start, you might be interested in a new group that has been set up called 'Deptford Is..'

The group, which has a blog here, is 'a group of local residents who want to ensure that the redeveloped Convoys Wharf offers the best for Deptford and its future.' They also state that they 'are not affiliated to any political party, commercial interest or quango'.

They are holding a 'planning objections workshop' in the blue room at the Albany this Saturday 23 September from 10-12, to help people who want to write objections against the plans but don't know how, or who want to know how they can do this by the most effective means.

They also promise to give a glimpse of some exciting plans they have for 'a number of new ventures at the site which will enable the nationally-significant heritage of Deptford's royal dockyard and Sayes Court to be fully acknowledged, as well as creating skilled apprenticeships and jobs for local people, attracting tourists into the area, and allowing Deptford's maritime expertise to be revived.'

If you are interested in writing an objection but can't make the workshop, you can sign up to their mailing list by emailing deptfordis@yahoo.co.uk.
